CONVICTED MUCH?

“He said to his men, ‘The LORD forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the LORD’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the LORD.’”
1 Samuel 24:6
🔎Reflection: David’s heart of humility stands in stark contrast to Korah’s pride and rebellion. Despite being anointed as the future king, David trusted in God’s timing and refused to take what wasn’t his. David could have easily taken Saul’s life, but instead, he chose to honor God’s anointed king, demonstrating his deep trust in God’s plan and providence. David’s repentance was immediate and profound—he didn’t justify his actions, but instead felt deeply convicted even over a small and seemingly insignificant deed, cutting off a tiny piece of King Saul’s robe. This isn’t about morality. It’s not a worldly lesson in being more like David and less like Korah. It’s about our submission and surrender to God… or not. David's example challenges us to respond to God’s correction quickly, with humility and repentance. This divine gift of humility is the opposite of narcissistic pride, as seen in Korah’s refusal to submit to God's authority.
🤺Action: Ask the LORD to examine your life for any actions, thoughts, or attitudes that would honor Him in repentance. Just as David immediately acknowledged his wrong, take time to repent today and submit yourself to God’s will through the revelation of His WORD (the Bible). Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you humility over self-justification, and to trust in the LORD with all your heart for His perfect providence in all things at all times.
🙏Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are the righteous judge, and Your timing is perfect. LORD Jesus, You humbled Yourself to fulfill the Father’s will, even unto death on a cross. Holy Spirit, teach me to follow Christ’s example by your presence and power. Almighty God of Holy Trinity, convict me where I need to repent, and empower me to walk in humility before You. Amen.
