OUR LIVING HOPE

Mary Magdalene and The Empty Tomb!
Mary Magdalene and The Empty Tomb!

📖Scripture: “…through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you…” 1 Peter 1:3–4

🔎Reflection: Biblical hope is not about crossing our fingers in wishful thinking; it’s a living, breathing reality rooted in the incarnation, life, suffering, death, burial, victorious resurrection, and imminent return of the eternal Son of God. Christ is alive, and because He lives, so do the saints (John 14:19).

Biblical hope is corporate (“for you” is plural), uniting us together as devoted members of Christ’s Body & Bride. The inheritance reserved exclusively for the saints is unlike earthly possessions. It is incorruptible, untouchable by sin, and will never fade (Matt 6:19-21). The abomination of pseudo-Christianity selfishly pursues physical and financial prosperity now, but Scripture redirects scattered exiles’ eyes upward — to what is kept secure in heaven.

Our trials here refine us for glory (1 Pet 1:6-7), but the guarantee of our inheritance rests on Christ’s victory (empty tomb), not our fluctuating circumstances. King Jesus is our living hope — not a dead hope derived from human philosophies, synthetic religion, or temporary comforts, but an eternal certainty sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13-14) and secured in His victorious resurrection!

🤺Action: Test yourself: are your hopes and dreams anchored in transient circumstances, temporary treasures, or in Christ and His eternal kingdom? The test isn’t subjective. Are you actively committed and passionately devoted to ongoing sanctification through a Bible-believing, God’s WORD-preaching, GOSPEL-advancing, discipleship-engaging, accountability-upholding local church in your gathering, growing, giving, and going? Or are you satisfied with your helmet of salvation? Redirect your prayers and affections toward the imperishable guaranteed inheritance in Him and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13-14)!

🙏Prayer: Risen LORD, my Living Hope, I will praise You in the assembly (Heb 10:25; Phil 1:27) among the saints, just as the psalmist did in Psalm 26:2-3, singing, “Test me, O LORD, and try me; examine my heart and mind. For Your covenant-loyalty is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.” Please forgive me for putting my hope and trust in earthly things that are perishing and passing away. I humbly ask that you would help me fix the eyes of my heart on You as my inheritance guarded and kept secure by God’s matchless power. Please teach me to rejoice with the members of Your Body & Bride as we eagerly await the day when our faith becomes sight! I pray all this in Jesus’ holy and precious name. Amen.
