God's Grief

ree

📖Scripture:

Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time. And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.”  — Genesis 6:5-6

🔎Examination:

Before the Flood, humanity’s depravity had reached full bloom. The Hebrew text piles superlatives: kol yetzer machshevot libbo ra kol-hayom — every intention, of every thought, of the heart, exclusively evil, all the time. The corruption was not external alone, but systemic and comprehensive — intellect, will, and desire... all enslaved to sin.

Modern culture, like Noah’s generation, chases counterfeit regeneration — a return to Eden without repentance. Through moral reform, social activism, or mystical experience, humanity seeks the tree of life apart from Christ. Political “salvation,” psychological therapy, and spiritual consumerism are but new towers of Babel. They promise heaven while producing hell and its perpetual consequences.

False churches mirror this corruption. Prosperity cults (Joel O, Bethel, Hillsong, NAR) preach self-deification; the papal system (RCC) substitutes sacramental superstition for repentance; and the therapeutic church sells “healing” without holiness. Each denies total depravity, exalting man’s will above God’s sovereignty.

True regeneration breaks the lineage of the Serpent (Gen 3:15). It births enmity between the woman’s seed — Christ and His saints — and the serpent’s seed — those enslaved to rebellion. The unregenerate world hates holiness because it exposes its death (John 3:19–20).

Peter’s call to rid ourselves of malice, deceit, and hypocrisy is thus not moral advice but warfare orders. We are to purge the infection of ra — calamity and rot — from the Body of Christ. The church’s purity is its testimony. When pulpits tolerate sin to preserve “influence,” they echo the sons of God in Genesis 6 who corrupted the covenant line through compromise. The Holy God who once drowned the world in judgment will soon judge again — this time by fire (2 Pet. 3:7).

God promised never to flood the earth again with water. The LGBTQ+ community has perverted the rainbow into a symbol of human rebellion and pride, i.e., the very thing God has revealed He despises and will judge with divine wrath!

"The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate." -Proverbs 8:13

Unlike the global deluge of Noah's time, which only cleansed the world temporarily, the flood of God's perfect and holy wrath is coming. This isn't hate speech. It's a loving and gracious call to repentance. The ARK of Salvation is the GOSPEL... Just as Noah's Ark had one door, King Jesus is the ONLY way, truth, and life! No one comes to the Father but through Him. The offer is open to EVERYONE, because as 2 Peter 3:9 reveals, He "is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance."

🤺Action:

  • Examine your allegiance: are you pursuing the idolatry of self-worship out of prideful rebellion? Is it reform without repentance? Influence without integrity? Or revival without rebirth?

  • Pursue holiness not as reputation but as evidence that you belong to the imperishable Seed.

  • Refuse to tolerate counterfeit Christianity in your heart, group, or ministry. Expose falsehood with Scripture’s light (Eph. 5:11). Staying with a group of heretics and blasphemers is not noble devotion or reform; it's overt, conscious, and intentional rebellion.

    • 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 - "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? ... Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you." The WORD commands separation from ungodly alliances, including false religious systems, to preserve holiness.

    • Revelation 18:4 - "Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues.'" A direct call from the WORD to flee from corrupt, idolatrous systems (symbolized by Babylon) to avoid judgment.

    • 2 Timothy 3:1-5 - "But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self... having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." The WORD instructs avoidance of those with false piety, common in heretical groups.

    • Titus 3:10-11 - "As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned." The WORD commands rejection after limited correction, not ongoing reform efforts.

    • Romans 16:17 - "I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them." The WORD commands avoidance of those teaching contrary to sound doctrine.

    • 2 John 1:9-11 - "Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God... If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works." The WORD prohibits fellowship with those deviating from Christ's teaching, to avoid complicity.

🧠Reflection:

Pray that the Holy Spirit would guard you from fascination with spiritual prattle, endless speculation, and counterfeit worship — whether emotionalism or intellectual pride. Ask for discernment to recognize where the serpent’s subtle lies have crept into your life or church, and for grace to cling to the pure Word that gives life. The message of the Rich Young Ruler isn't prescriptive in the sense of everyone needing to sell all their possessions. The point is that we must purge every idol from our lives that competes with our unhindered devotion to following King Jesus.
